I Don’t Know

To be conscious that you are ignorant of the facts is a great step to knowledge. – Benjamin Disraeli

Those three words can be some of the most powerful.

As important is what we follow those words with.

“I don’t know, and I’m going to learn.”

“I don’t know, and that’s okay.”

“I don’t know, that’s okay and I have more important things to focus on.”

Being okay with not knowing is a very powerful come-from.

Why?

Because the truth is there is so much we don’t know, and will never know.

When we meet that truth with humility and intelligent action we maximize our emotional health and ability to take constructive action (in whichever direction makes the most sense).
