What Way of Life Are You Committed To?

Once a man has made a commitment to a way of life, he puts the greatest strength in the world behind him. It’s something we call heart power. Once a man has made this commitment, nothing will stop him short of success. – Vince Lombardi

What strikes me about this term: “way of life” is that it’s a powerful invitation to look at one’s life in total.

Not just committment to a goal or a “purpose,” but the manner in which one lives their life.

It allows for consideration of all the relevant areas. I submit there are four key domains of life: Physical, Emotional, Mental and Spiritual.

Deciding what one values in each area is critical to overall success.

Start with one domain and create a values-based practice that you can work on each day (ideally, multiple times each day…. ).

Once you have that new practice in place, you can add practices in different domains.

Be careful though and start slowly. You are programmed (sub-consciously) to reject change (even beneficial change) and prefer the known and safe.

As you create new habits your life will transform, you be increasingly skillful in the practice of success.
