The Curious Power of Coaching

As a coach I am very curious. I ask a lot of questions.

I am always reminding myself to wonder and be curious, to ask clients, and myself:

“What else might that mean…?”

“How does that happen… ?”

“Could you see that differently… ?”

“If you were free to do things exactly as you wanted, what would you do… ?”

“Are you willing to assume that you don’t know what you want right now, but you could figure it out… ?”

And on and on and…

It is by being both passionately curious, as Einstein was, and resolute in experimentation, review and selection (as I must assume he was), that we can illuminate our prejudices and blind-spots and discover how to move forward – intelligently and authentically.

Both are what I focus on as a coach.
