Where Does Destiny Lie?

It is not in the stars to hold our destiny but in ourselves. – William Shakespeare

So many people put the power for what happens to them outside themselves.

What’s more they think that their lives are determined by some fuzzy thing called fate. Fate being the amalgamation of other people’s decisions, the vagaries of the economy and politics and some mysterious force that lies beyond the physical world.

Are there things you can’t control, that impact your life? Absolutely.

Is there a way to make things go just as you wish? Nope.

What you can do, however, is significant.

And to not do all the things you can is truly one of life’s tragedies.

So much of your “destiny” lies within the things you can 1) control and 2) influence.

When you understand what lies within those two categories, and what is beyond them, you can get busy taking action to do what you can and influence where you might.

The true magic of life isn’t in some amorphous thing called fate, but in all you can do when you realize and act on the power that lies within us all.
