Admire, and Create

Admire Jesus’ compassion or the Buddha’s wisdom all you want, but what good can their qualities do you until you find them in yourself? – Byron Katie

What’s so powerful about this quote is that it insists that you already have these good, admirable qualities within you.

You may not be demonstrating those qualities to the extent you could, but you can change that.

How?

Slowly and gradually. That’s how all successful change efforts work.

Decide the kind of person you want to be and show yourself that you are that.

Create yourself as the sort of person you want to be.

Or continue to create yourself as you are.

I’m willing to bet that you will prefer the former.

A “one-footer?” I was watching a Brendon Burchard video where he was talking about limiting beliefs and how they don’t really limit us, unless we focus on them to the exclusion of other thoughts. As we know,…

  • Pain vs Injury

Now, I’m not talking about doing things that create injuries, more the things that we say: “oh what a pain that is” about. Injuries are when things get damaged and need to heal. Pain, discomfort, and the…

  • Three Power Questions

As a coach I love questions. In fact, questions are coaching. It’s the willingness for the coach to be open to asking and not knowing that allows for the client to create their own answers – and the actions that follow. Here are three of my favorites: What do I really want? When you take the time to…
