Who “Gets” Coaching

The recipe for perpetual ignorance is: Be satisfied with your opinions and content with your knowledge. – Elbert Hubbard

This sentiment really captures who doesn’t get coaching – both literally and figuratively.

People who don’t get coaching, figuratively, wonder what the fuss is about.

“Coaching? I don’t play a sport, why would I need a coach? Besides, I’m doing okay. I’m smart, educated and know what I’m doing . . . ”

People who don’t get coaching, literally, simply put, either don’t improve their lives very much or at all. (And whatever progress they make is slower and harder than it has to be.)

People who do get coaching regularly review their opinions and are always learning and growing – both personally and professionally.

People who get coaching are going to:

  • be happier
  • be more fulfilled
  • live more authentically
  • be healthier and have (way) more energy
  • be better parents, spouses and friends
  • have more and better sex
  • achieve goals faster and easier
  • earn more money
  • build their businesses more quickly
  • get promoted faster
  •  . . .

The question is: are you going to get coaching?

I had toyed with the idea of making the first post on this blog about an idea, or a strategy. The key thing, the most important thing one needs to know and practice to lead an authentic, effective and purposeful life. But I thought better of that. For two reasons really: 1) I was having…
