It’s (Really) Up To You

No one can cheat you out of ultimate success but yourself. – Emerson

When Emerson talks about “ultimate success” I believe he’s speaking of the combination of deciding what you truly want and giving the creation of that your absolute, level best.

The only one who can keep you from that is yourself.

There’s two, main, ways that people stop themselves.

One: they don’t really decide what it is they really want.

Two: they don’t do the work.

It’s really that simple.

Not that it’s easy, but it is that simple.

What do you really want?

Are you willing to do what it takes – to start, and fail, and start again and make mistakes and win small victories and encounter set-backs and hard times and feel the euphoria of big advancements and sometimes the drudgery of just doing what needs to be done?

If so, then you’ve got a chance.

Get. To. It.

Happiness is a journey, not a destination. For a long time it seemed to me that life was about to begin—real life. But there was always some obstacle in the way, something to be gotten through first, some unfinished business, time still to be served, a debt to be paid. At last it dawned on…
