It’s In The Starting Of It

“Begin – to begin is half the work, let half still remain; again begin this, and thou wilt have finished.” – Marcus Aurelius

As we wrap up this week of “labor” related quotes, let us pause to ponder the importance of starting.

So often I learn new things, or new ways of doing things, only by starting a task or project. It’s funny, I am always grateful for having done something – for the learning if nothing else – but know I sometimes waste far too much time procrastinating. (Procrastinating, honestly, mostly out of fear of things changing (and if I’m really honest, a fear of them changing in a way that I can’t handle).)

But I’m always okay. It always works out . . . some sort of way.
