How Surrender Can Make You Stronger

True strength lies in submission which permits one to dedicate his life, through devotion, to something beyond himself. – Henry Miller

Sometimes we have to surrender.

We need to give our selves to what we truly want and what we’re really capable of, to break free of the lives we have created so far.

As humans we have the tendency to (strongly) prefer the safe, known and predictable; this comes from ancient survival programming.

This programming served us well – as a species – when life was much more difficult. While there are still people in the world for whom survival is not a given, if you’re reading this you’re likely doing just fine.

So your choice, and it’s always a choice, is to live a default, incremental life, or allow for the possibility that your life could be different, bigger, easier and more important.

The wonderful thing is, once you give your self to a new possibility of life, it becomes a joy to serve others and something bigger than yourself.

So often our “jobs” are smaller than what we are, what we are capable of – but there’s an alternative.

There’s always an alternative.
