Look At The What To Find The Why

“Do not wait to strike till the iron is hot; but make it hot by striking.” – William Butler Yeats

As I said to a colleague recently: the Universe rewards action.

One of the key questions this quote brings up for me is: what stops us from taking action?

We all have dreams about the future and who and what we want to be, do and have, but so many of those dreams go un-fulfilled.

Why?

What could we change?

Clarity.

We need more clarity. We need to understand our desires better. When we are clear on why we want something (later) we engage our emotions (now).

Dreams are little without the emotional energy to fuel their conversion into goals.

And even when we’re clear about what we want and why, we need the energy to keep starting and going each day. We need emotional energy to act in accordance with our goals each day, hour and minute.

Get clear about what you’re doing and why. Get clear about how what you do serves you (trust me, we do everything for a reason, even if it’s not healthy… ). Ask yourself if your “whys” and “whats” really work for you now, and for where you want to go.

When you’re clear about why you do what you do, you can choose better.
