Today’s words of wisdom apply in myriad ways.

“Intellectual growth should commence at birth and cease only at death.” – Albert Einstein

Of course, intellectual growth should always continue in one’s life, but there are other key areas as well. Our physical, emotional and spriritual growth and development must continue throughout our lives, if we are to realize our potential as human beings.

I speak of Einstein’s “intellectual” growth as Loehr/Schwartz’s “Mental” component of their quartet of key energy areas. I don’t know exactly what Einstein meant by ‘intellectual,’ but I’m going to read into it nonetheless.

What do you think? What areas could you be growing in? What areas are you focused on growing in? If you’re like most folks, you don’t have any specific areas, or a plan — and that’s unfortunate. Without a specific, measurable — and most importantly, authentic — plan for growth in key areas, you are missing out on a key way to grow yourself and your capacities (and falling behind those that do (have a plan)).

It’s merely a component of power. Knowledge is no more power than flour is a cake. When you combine knowledge with other key ingredients, such as awareness, intention…

  • Paying the Price

“The price of anything is the amount of life you exchange for it.” – Henry David Thoreau I love this quote because it reminds us that there is no such thing as something-for-nothing.
